ANSI/NIST-ITL STANDARD HOMEPAGE
There was an ANSI/NIST-ITL 1-2011 Update:2015 Kickoff Meeting on October 31, 2014. The meeting discussed changes and/or corrections for the updating of the ANSI/NIST-ITL 1-2011 Update:2013 standard. One key feature of this update will be the use of NIEM 3.0 for XML encoding of the standard. Currently NIEM 2.1 is used for ANSI/NIST-ITL schemas.
There was also a Mobile ID Best Practices Recommendations Kickoff Meeting on October 30, 2014 that discuss changes for creating a new and updated version of the Mobile ID BPR. The BPR has not been updated in several years and needs to be brought up to date.
The ANSI/NIST-ITL standard has been revised! The Forensic Dental and the Forensic and Investigatory Voice Supplements have been approved. They are incorporated into the text of ANSI/NIST-ITL 1-2011 Update:2013. Note that this is an extension of the standard and not a wholescale revision. The draft of ANSI/NIST-ITL 1-2011:Update 2015 is here.
A list of potential future changes to the standard is maintained by the editor, based upon input received from users. When there is a substantial enough list, an update to the standard can be done -- given the support of the canvassees for the changes. Please provide any input to Brad.Wing@nist.gov
